Regional Drug & Alcohol Task Force Conference discusses Ireland’s relationship with alcohol

The MRDATF Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week 2015 took place on the week beginning 9th November 2015. See website for full details.

An information leaflet ‘A guide for safe disposal of drug related waste and litter in County Westmeath’, was launched as part of a public information campaign, following a meeting of Westmeath Joint Policing Committee held in Athlone on the 20th July 2015.

The resource will enable individuals over the age of eighteen to complete an online test to identify harmful drug use. On completing the test, the user receives personalised video feedback based on their specific responses, with suggestions on what to do in order to change any risks relating to their drug use.

The MRDATF Drug & Alcohol Awareness Week was officially launched by Frances Black, Singer, CEO and Founder of the RISE Foundation on Monday 10th November 2014 in the Mullingar Park Hotel, Mullingar Co Westmeath. The launch of the awareness week also coincided with the launching of an "Alcohol & U App" and the official unveiling of the re-developed MRDATF branding which incorporates alcohol under the remit of the MRDATF since early 2013.

In June 2014, the 2014 Dial to Stop Drug Dealing Campaign was launched. It aims to empower local communities so that they can say no to drug dealing on their streets, in their neighbourhoods and in their communities.

On Wednesday 3rd October 2012 the Ana Liffey Drug Project launched their Open Access service in Mullingar (formerly the Open Door Project Mullingar)

On Friday 5th October 2012 Lord Mayor Cllr, Jim Henson formally launched Merchants Quay Ireland’s Open Door Project in Athlone. The day was celebrated by staff, friends and clients with a Barbeque, live music and tours of the service.

The Awareness Week was officially launched by Michael Duignan, RTE GAA pundit and former Offaly All Ireland winning hurler on Monday October 1st 2012 at 11am in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore, Co Offaly.

The official launch of the seminar ˜A Sporting Chance- Challenges for Sport on and off the Field took place on Thursday 20th September at 4.30pm
