An Alcohol Conference – The Impact on Health & Society, took place on Monday the 10th November 2014 in the Mullingar Park Hotel, Mullingar, Co Westmeath. The Conference was organised by the Midland Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force (MRDATF) and HSE CADS (Community, Alcohol and Drug Service) Midlands Area. Funded by the MRDATF & HSE, this Conference is one of many events scheduled to take place during the course of the 2014 MRDATF Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week, which will run from Monday 10th to Friday 14th November 2014. The Launch of the MRDATF Drug and Alcohol Awareness Week also took place on the morning of the Conference.
The aim of the Alcohol Conference was to bring together interested agencies and individuals who work in the field of addiction to engage in meaningful learning and discussion regarding the impact of Alcohol use on the individual and society.
Applications to attend the Conference were accepted from Community, Voluntary and Statutory agencies and individuals working in the area of addiction within the midland region (Longford, Westmeath, Laois and Offaly). Application were also accepted from medical and non medical professionals with an interest in this area.
